OGUN CONGRATULATES OBASEKI ON APPEAL COURT VICTORY


The member representing Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency of Edo State in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. ( Barr.) Deacon Sergius Oseasochie Ogun has reacted to the verdict of the Court of Appeal which upheld the ruling of the Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

In his reaction to the judgement which is coming barely two months after the Election Petition Tribunal struck out the petitions filed by the ADP and others challenging the outcome of the September 19, 2020 Governorship Election , the Lawmaker described the verdict of the Court of Appeal as a victory for democracy, the rule of law and Edo People while stressing that the judiciary has once again reaffirmed its  impartiality and neutrality.  

Going further, Rt Hon. Ogun congratulated the Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Mr Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Rt Hon. Comrade Phillip Shaibu on the well deserved victory while reiterating that no amount of frivolous litigations can upturn the mandate freely given to them by the good people of Edo State on 19th September, 2020. He also congratulated the leaders and members of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) across the 192 wards of Edo State for their steadfastness and relentless support for party. 

Hon. Ogun enjoined all Edolites to join hands with the governor to move the state forward.

NAWOJ Demand justice for her member assaulted by Ex_husband

. The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has noted with concern, the alarming spikes in the cases of physical and domestic violence against women by their spouses. The ugly development is becoming worrisome, reprehensible, dastardly thus, totally unacceptable . It is particularly worrisome to note that in the month of August 2022 alone, there were three documented cases of wife battery that inflicted serious physical injuries, mental torture, dehumanised sanctity and dignity of victims by their husbands in the country. One of the sad cases, is confirmed dead from the alleged  unfortunate violence. Edo 2024: Crisis Brew in Edo APC Over Oshiomhole's Endoresement of Preferred Candidate

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State may be heading into the September 21, 2024 Governorship election as a divided party, if the romours of imposition of Mr. Dennis Idahosa as his preferred candidate is true.
