THE LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL THROUGH UROMI ROYAL LIONS CLUB DONATES BOOKS TO SCHOOLS

 The Uromi Royal Lions Club which is a branch of The Lions Club International , a non governmental and non profit making organization, a Humanitarian/Community Service Club donates Text Books to schools in Uromi. The gesture is to equip the school libraries for the benefits of the school and the students. The schools which includes Okpujie Primary School, Ogbidi Learning Centre, Our Lady of Lourdes Girls Grammar School and Ufua Memorial Group of Schools Uromi, expressed their utmost gratitude and thanked the club, it's leadership, members and sponsors for the wonderful gesture done to them.

The President of the Club, Lion Barr. Christian Ayemere in his remark admonished the schools and pupils/students to utilize the books and hopes that they find the books very useful to them in their academic pursuit.
The President also said that it is their desire to positively affect as many lives as possible within Uromi and the neighbouring towns and villages like Uzea, Irrua, Ekpoma, Ewu, Ubiaja and and so on.

The Uromi Royal Lions Club which is just about 2yrs old in Uromi has been able to carry out some humanitarian activities in and around Uromi. The activities includes but not limited to Medical Eye outreaches, Pediatrics Cancer Awareness campaigns, Covid-19 Enlightenment Campaign etc.

Edo 2024: Crisis Brew in Edo APC Over Oshiomhole's Endoresement of Preferred Candidate

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State may be heading into the September 21, 2024 Governorship election as a divided party, if the romours of imposition of Mr. Dennis Idahosa as his preferred candidate is true. NAWOJ Demand justice for her member assaulted by Ex_husband

. The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has noted with concern, the alarming spikes in the cases of physical and domestic violence against women by their spouses. The ugly development is becoming worrisome, reprehensible, dastardly thus, totally unacceptable . It is particularly worrisome to note that in the month of August 2022 alone, there were three documented cases of wife battery that inflicted serious physical injuries, mental torture, dehumanised sanctity and dignity of victims by their husbands in the country. One of the sad cases, is confirmed dead from the alleged  unfortunate violence.
