Edo Assembly speaker inspects 7.7km road project in Esan west.......Calls for Patience



Rt Hon Marcus Onobun said the Ihumudumu, Ujemen - Iruekpen  road project is one of the electioneering promises of the Governor Godwin Obaseki to the people last year. 

The project which has a gestation period of two years , commenced on February , with work on the side drains and culverts to combat the erosion problem .

The speaker commended   Governor Godwin Obaseki for fulfilling the promises made and assured that with the men and materials on site the road would stand the test of time .
He advised residents and motorists to be patient and bear the difficulties that may arise during the road construction as it for the overall benefit of all when the road project is completed.

Contractor on site Mr Michel  said the work would be completed in record time .

Some respondents who spoke with journalists commended the Governor for promises fulfilled as the road has been abandoned for years .

They said the road has been rendered impassable expecially when it rains.

Edo 2024: Crisis Brew in Edo APC Over Oshiomhole's Endoresement of Preferred Candidate

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State may be heading into the September 21, 2024 Governorship election as a divided party, if the romours of imposition of Mr. Dennis Idahosa as his preferred candidate is true. NAWOJ Demand justice for her member assaulted by Ex_husband

. The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has noted with concern, the alarming spikes in the cases of physical and domestic violence against women by their spouses. The ugly development is becoming worrisome, reprehensible, dastardly thus, totally unacceptable . It is particularly worrisome to note that in the month of August 2022 alone, there were three documented cases of wife battery that inflicted serious physical injuries, mental torture, dehumanised sanctity and dignity of victims by their husbands in the country. One of the sad cases, is confirmed dead from the alleged  unfortunate violence.
