BREAKING: King Charles becomes the King of the United Kingdom as Queen Elizabeth II of England dies at 96.



Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-serving monarch in British history and an icon instantly recognisable to billions of people around the world, Queen Elizabeth II died at aged 96 as announced today Thursday 8th September, 2022 at Buckingham.

 Prince Charles, 73, succeeds as king immediately after her, according to centuries of protocol, beginning a new, less certain chapter for the royal family after the queen’s record-breaking to have reigned for 71 years.

Queen Elizabeth II was said to have died peacefully.

Crowd had gathered at the Buckingham Palace residence in London on Thursday as concern was growing over the Queen’s health.

About 100 people braved torrential rain to stand at the palace gates, according to AFP, as senior royals rushed to Balmoral in Scotland, where the queen was being treated.

The Royal Family, announced her death on Twitter, tweeted, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and to return to London tomorrow.”

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning monarch in British history.

Edo 2024: Crisis Brew in Edo APC Over Oshiomhole's Endoresement of Preferred Candidate

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State may be heading into the September 21, 2024 Governorship election as a divided party, if the romours of imposition of Mr. Dennis Idahosa as his preferred candidate is true. . The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has noted with concern, the alarming spikes in the cases of physical and domestic violence against women by their spouses. The ugly development is becoming worrisome, reprehensible, dastardly thus, totally unacceptable .
