The administrative headquarters of Esan South East LGA, Ubiaja was gripped with palpable joy and excitement today as Sergius Oseasochie Ogun Foundation (SOOF) disbursed NECO/SSCE enrollment grants to 600 ( Six Hundred) deserving final year students drawn from both public and private secondary schools in Esan North-East and Esan South-East Local Government Areas of Edo State.  The Chief host of the grand presentation ceremony and founding president of SOOF, Rt Hon. (Barr.)  The Vice-chancellor of Igbinedion University, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, has advised students to embrace international conferences to broaden their academic and employability horizon to make them competitive. Ezemonye gave the advice at a one-day students internationalisation workshop held on Tuesday at the University campus in Okada. Ezemonye stressed the immense benefits derived from exposing undergraduates to international conferences, saying that the university had designed its programmes in that direction. “This university has, for a long time, placed greater premium on exposing its undergraduates to opportunities in academics internationally to prepare them to be major players in the global space. Outcry in Uteh community receives government intervention...... Nehikhare.

  At about 4pm on Saturday, October 5, 2022, Edo State Government's attention was drawn to the  wanton construction of a perimeter fence on a road in the Uteh Community, upper mission area of Benin City with impunity. In a statement signed by the commissioner for Communication and orientation,Hon Chris Nehikhare, the video complaint, identified the proprietor of Divine Providence School Palace Road, Uteh community, upper mission extension as the person illegally grabbing land and attempting to annex same. Consequently, an Enforcement Team from Ministry of Physical Planning, Housing, Urban and Regional Development led by the Hon. Commissioner, Isoken Omo, visited the site today, Sunday October 6, 2022 and reclaimed the road. A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship hopeful for Esan North-East LGA, Engr Abraham Osezuah has called on the electorates and the entire Esan land to vote with their conscience and conviction in this democratic dispensation. Osezuah who played host to the press appealed to voters not to sell their votes  for peanuts and turn back to lament when such elected  officials turn their backs against them.  The PDP aspirant who prides himself as a "philanthropic and a humanitarian" promised to meet his people at the point of their needs. The speaker Delta State House of Assembly and People's Democratic party (PDP) Governorship candidate,Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has enjoined PDP faithful across the state to close ranks and work for the victory of the party’s candidates in the 2023 general elections. The PDP flagbearer stated this while playing host to some PDP elders, leaders and top political office holders from Isoko ethnic nationalities who visited him in his office at the State Assembly complex, Asaba. Sheriff Oborevwori noted that it requires the collective efforts of every PDP members to win the 2023 general elections, saying that internal crisis in the Party has done enough harm and must not be allowed to continue.
