EDO PDP LEADERSHIP CRISIS RESOLVED AS TONY AZIEGBEMI RETURN BACK TO OFFICE AS CHAIRMAN


The State Working Committee of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo state has, after its working committee meeting called to deliberate on the report of the Investigative Committee set up to investigate the allegations of gross misconduct against its Chairman, Hon. Tony Aziegbemi, has exonerated and acquited  him.
In a statement signed by the publicity secretary Mr Chris Nehikhare, the suspension has therefore been lifted and the  Chairman,  Hon. Tony Aziegbemi will resume his office with immediate effect. 

We thank all party members, supporters and leaders for their cooperation and support during this period of self audit, he added.

Obaseki hailed mothers for their outstanding roles in the state’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has hailed mothers for their outstanding roles in the state’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In a statement to commemoration the Mother’s Day which is celebrated every 14th of March, the Governor  urged mothers not to relent in supporting government’s campaign to halt the spread of COVID-19 as the state commences the vaccination of over 40,000 residents against the deadly disease in the state. NAWOJ Demand justice for her member assaulted by Ex_husband

. The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has noted with concern, the alarming spikes in the cases of physical and domestic violence against women by their spouses. The ugly development is becoming worrisome, reprehensible, dastardly thus, totally unacceptable . It is particularly worrisome to note that in the month of August 2022 alone, there were three documented cases of wife battery that inflicted serious physical injuries, mental torture, dehumanised sanctity and dignity of victims by their husbands in the country. One of the sad cases, is confirmed dead from the alleged  unfortunate violence.
