MONDAY OSAIGBOVO FELICITATES WITH GOV. OBASEKI AT 64


 The immediate Past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,
Edo State. 
Hon. Rtn.Monday E. O. Osaigbovo (JP), has congratulated His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, Executive Governor of Edo State, on the occasion of his 64th birthday anniversary.

In a statement made available for newsmen, the former commissioner said, Suffice it to say that not all births are greeted by the sudden appearances of stars, but the Heavens themselves announce the birth of socio-politico and economic giants like you.

Your Excellency, your life has been of immense benefit to all of humanity in all spheres, beginning from your days of classical learning, through your time as investment banker, a field which to this day you remain an authority, and of course, your sojourn in the world of politics, which has seen your rise through the echelon into becoming the number one citizen of Edo State.

In every sector you have traversed, you have left your footprints. As Governor, you have shown your quality in the political disarmament of your traducers through your people-oriented approach and policies. 

Like Mark Twain wrote, "It is not the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the dog" that ensures victory. You surmounted hurdles and crippled challenges. Politically speaking, like Muhammed Ali, you literarily wrestled alligators, tussled whales, handcuffed lightnings and threw thunder in jail.

Like, Dr. Maria Onyia once wrote, "Build your stage, climb your stage and applaud yourself." This corroborates the submission of Purvi Raniga when he wrote, "People applaud for success but find it hard to applaud for the process that goes behind success. Learn to applaud for your own process." Rotarians will say;

_Let every good knight raise his helmet and glove,_
_To carry our message of service and love._ 
_When something is wrong, let us straighten it out,_
_For nothing is worse than a fear or a doubt._

Your Excellency, you should indeed raise your helmet and celebrate your God-given achievements for you have become a textbook definition of a victor; a victor over the forces that tend to perpetually place personal and political interests above the welfare of the people. With your leadership, the good people of Edo State can once again see a future and a reason to hope.

On this day Your Excellency, I wish you joy everlasting, even as I pray God Almighty to grant you longevity to witness and reap the positivity of your labour, happy birthday.

Edo 2024: Crisis Brew in Edo APC Over Oshiomhole's Endoresement of Preferred Candidate

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State may be heading into the September 21, 2024 Governorship election as a divided party, if the romours of imposition of Mr. Dennis Idahosa as his preferred candidate is true. NAWOJ Demand justice for her member assaulted by Ex_husband

. The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has noted with concern, the alarming spikes in the cases of physical and domestic violence against women by their spouses. The ugly development is becoming worrisome, reprehensible, dastardly thus, totally unacceptable . It is particularly worrisome to note that in the month of August 2022 alone, there were three documented cases of wife battery that inflicted serious physical injuries, mental torture, dehumanised sanctity and dignity of victims by their husbands in the country. One of the sad cases, is confirmed dead from the alleged  unfortunate violence.
