UROMI ROYAL LIONS CLUB DISTRIBUTES 31 MEDICATED EYEGLASSES TO STUDENTS OF AGBA GRAMMAR SCHOOL UROMI

. Lions Clubs International, District 404A1 Nigeria through one of it's branch Clubs, Uromi Royal Lions Club today  30th of November, 2021 Distributed medicated eye glasses to 31 Students of Agba Grammar School, Uromi in commemoration of the World Sight Day. It would recalled that the Association carried out eye Screening on the students on the 10th of November, 2021 and it is the screening that has necessitated the production and subsequent distribution of the lenses to the affected students. The President of the Club, Lion Barr. Christian Ayemere who addressed the students after the Club Treasurer who is a qualified nurse, Lion Mrs. Itohan Alili admonished them to take proper care of their glasses and eyes. The students and staff who were super elated, thanked the President and members of the club and everyone that made the eye project a success for choosing their school for the program and prayed that God reward them greatly.

Re-open Our Secondary School, Ugiamwen People Beg Edo State Govt

The people of Ugiamwen community in  Uhunmode Local Government Area of Edo State have appealed to Edo State government to re-open Ugiamwen Secondary School which was closed by the state Ministry of Education in 2019. The school which is the only secondary school at Ugiamwen, was established in 1980 by the administration of the late Prof. Ambrose Alli serves four communities along that corridor of Uhunmode Local Government Area namely Ugbiokho, Ukpogo, Agunuagbie and the host community, Ugiamwen. While appealing to the Edo State government to come the aid of the community by re-opening the school, Chief Andrew  Eronmosele, the Aiguobasimwin of Udianmwen pointed out that their children of school age are idling away at home while their peers in other communities are in school. The International Association of Lions Clubs, District 404A1 Nigeria through one of it's branches, Uromi Royal Lions Club today being 10th of November, 2021 carried out one of it's core projects which is Eye Care (Eye Screening and Distribution of medicated glasses) to Students and Teachers of Agba Grammar School, Uromi in commemoration of the World Sight Day. The President of the Club, Lion Barr. Christian Ayemere who addressed the students admonished them to take advantage of the opportunity given to them and always endeavour to take care of their eyes. By Ijeoma Umeh The  need for parents, guardians,  teachers and other caregivers to pay more attention to the psychosocial well being of the girl-child/adolescent children formed crux of discourse today in Benin City as the  Standup for Women Society, SWS, Edo State Chapter, a Non-Governmental Organization in the forefront of women-centred advocacy and empowerment,  embarked on an Advocacy Visit to Uyiosa Primary School, in Benin City, Edo state. Also in attendance was Mr Erhabor Eghosa,  HOS, Quality Assurance Unit of the Oredo Local Government Education Authority, and Mr Iyare Raphael Igninere, representative of SUBEB, Edo state.  Liberator Daisy Osunde, Chairperson of the organization who led members of the state executive on the Advocacy Visit addressed  Primary 5 pupils of the school, mainly girls, on their fundamental human rights and  their sexual health, and gave them specific guidelines on how to identify paedophile...
