Osezuah admonish electorates to vote with their conscience

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship hopeful for Esan North-East LGA, Engr Abraham Osezuah has called on the electorates and the entire Esan land to vote with their conscience and conviction in this democratic dispensation. Osezuah who played host to the press appealed to voters not to sell their votes  for peanuts and turn back to lament when such elected  officials turn their backs against them.  The PDP aspirant who prides himself as a "philanthropic and a humanitarian" promised to meet his people at the point of their needs. He confirmed that he wants to open up his LGA, especially the hinterlands to boost connectivity to mainstream society. Delta 2023: Speaker urged PDP faithful to remain calm and committed.

The speaker Delta State House of Assembly and People's Democratic party (PDP) Governorship candidate,Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has enjoined PDP faithful across the state to close ranks and work for the victory of the party’s candidates in the 2023 general elections. The PDP flagbearer stated this while playing host to some PDP elders, leaders and top political office holders from Isoko ethnic nationalities who visited him in his office at the State Assembly complex, Asaba. Sheriff Oborevwori noted that it requires the collective efforts of every PDP members to win the 2023 general elections, saying that internal crisis in the Party has done enough harm and must not be allowed to continue.

The Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) Egor, Dr. Igbinigie.O has assured the local government's support to the members of Federated Chapel of Edo NUJ.

He said as the head of the local government, he operate an open door policy where the demands of the grassroots are met on a daily basis. Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Federated Chapel, Mercy Onyenweli commended the local government for organizing and cleaning the Uselu market to the admiration of citizens in the state. According to her, the chapel elected a new Executive and deem it appropriate to familiarize with the management of the local government and seek their partnership. She however assured the local government head that members of the chapel would always give a favourable reportage on the activities of the government expercially when they are providing effective leadership at the grassroots level .

International Association of Lions Clubs Holds World Sight Project, Emphasizes Need for Periodical Eye Check

By Ijeoma Umeh Benin City - Over 1,500 persons were beneficiaries of the Vision Project carried out by the International Association of Lions Club,  District 404-A1 to commemorate the World Sight Day 2022.  The project, tagged: Your Eye, was jointly carried out by Regions 9 and 10  in the District, and was executed in partnership with the St. Theresa's Eye Clinic, Benin City.  For three days, from October 13th to 15th, people from all walks of life converged on the New Benin Primary Health Centre in Benin City, Venue of the eye care project, and were screened of various Eye ailments, including cataract, glaucoma and several other visual impairments, while referrals were made and surgeries for cataracts were done,  On the whole, 32 persons benefited in the cataract surgeries while over 300 reading glasses were distributed.   Speaking to the Press, Lion Engr Ambrose Ohonba MIET and Lion Galvin Osaretin Osayande NLCF, R...

By Osaiyekmwen Confidence Osarumwense  The Medical Director of Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital,   Uselu, Dr. Osama Agbonile Imafidon in an appeal made this  passionate request to the members of Federated Chapel of the National of Journalist, Edo State Council during a courtesy visit  in the hospital boardroom in Benin City. Members of the Chapel was pleaded with for sensitisation the public on mental health advocacy as a way of ensuring their social responsibility to the people in the state. The MD frowned at the way some of the media houses bill the institution for mental health advocacy stories but however appluaded Speed FM for their support to the mental health institution. She in the recent set a new national record for the Junior Olympics. Earlier this month, Dakota and her teammates with Xpress Track Club in Fort Worth set a new record in the girls 8 and under 100-meter relay at the AAU Junior Olympics. Dakota, who finished her part in 59.08 seconds, also set a new national record.  Dakota who in recent time caught national attention last year when Tiktok videos of her running in a track competition went viral. Dakota who has won in all the competitions ever since she joined the team. Dakota who has never missed a day of her training even in the heat of the summer. Benin City - Female inmates of the Benin Correctional Centre, Sapele Road in Benin City, Edo State have been tasked on the need not to regard their incarceration as the end of life.  This was part of admonition given by Executive Members of the Standup for Women Society(SWS), Edo State Chapter today as they   embarked on an Advocacy Visit to the Correctional Centre.  The Advocacy Visit, according to Liberator Daisy Osunde, Chairperson, SWS Edo State is part of activities to mark the 2022 Independence Day Celebration and was tagged: Liberating Their Inner Minds.  Liberator Osunde tasked Female inmates to see their imprisonment as a means to achieving a positive end, and not an end in itself.  "Use this period of your lack of freedom to reflect on your lives and free your minds of anything that may cause you setback when you eventually regained your freedom.  Great minds in history have achieved great successes, even in chains. The athletics World champion, Tobi Amusan has been rewarded by the Ogun state government for her outstanding success in the recent 2022 Commonwealth Games. Tobi received the award on Tuesday 4th October 2022 at the Ogun State Government House, Abeokuta.   Abiodun commended her tenaciousness, perseverance and persistent determination to excel while Tobi received the gift and was also named as the Sports ambassador of Ogun State. According to a post by Bayo Adegboyega who was at the Government House said Governor Dapo Abiodun was glad to host Tobi.
