Edo Assembly holds August edition of the monthly Prayer Fellowship tagged Return to God



In continuation of the tradition of the Edo state House of Assembly to hold a prayer fellowship on the first working day of the month ,the August edition has been held , with the massage return to God.

In his sermon during the prayer fellowship ,Rev Igbinijesu who spoke on the topic return to God ,took his text from Zechariah 1vs 1-3 urged all present to return and hold tenaciously to God.

This he said would guarantee favour and blessings in the remaining months of the year.

Rev Igbinijesu advised all to forget about problems and challenges as God is involved in the affairs of all and all unpleasant situations would be surmounted .

Concluding his message ,he prayed for peace, progress , mercy, and protection on the Speaker , Rt.Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku.

In his remarks, Speaker, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, thanked the religious leaders present for sustaining the monthly fellowship.

Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, went down memory lane , stating that in all that concerns him ,the hand of God has been prominent, from his victory at the polls to his election as Speaker.

He explained that while he would ensure the sustenance of the monthly program ,he assured staff present that their welfare is sancrosant and urged all to make it a point of duty to attend the monthly program .

In his vote of thanks , the clerk of the House Alhaji Yahaya Audu Omogbai, though been a Muslim thanked all present, stressing that service to God cannot be overemphasized .
High point of the fellowship was the prayer session for the speaker, members staff as well as Edo state Government.

Present at the fellowship were  Hon Destiny Enabulele member Representing Ovia south west ,pastors including Pastor Eghosa Omoruyi, Pastor Okonofua , the Cheif of staff to the Speaker, Hon Odion Daniel Iruobe, Special Adviser on Protocol and Travels Mr Chiaka Ogaraku amongst other notable personalities at the  monthly fellowship .

Edo 2024: Crisis Brew in Edo APC Over Oshiomhole's Endoresement of Preferred Candidate

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State may be heading into the September 21, 2024 Governorship election as a divided party, if the romours of imposition of Mr. Dennis Idahosa as his preferred candidate is true. NAWOJ Demand justice for her member assaulted by Ex_husband

. The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has noted with concern, the alarming spikes in the cases of physical and domestic violence against women by their spouses. The ugly development is becoming worrisome, reprehensible, dastardly thus, totally unacceptable . It is particularly worrisome to note that in the month of August 2022 alone, there were three documented cases of wife battery that inflicted serious physical injuries, mental torture, dehumanised sanctity and dignity of victims by their husbands in the country. One of the sad cases, is confirmed dead from the alleged  unfortunate violence.
