The Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State has expressed serious disappointment in Senator Francis Asekhame Alimikhena representing Edo North in the Senate  for brazenly supporting the abridgment of the democratic choice of Nigerians by voting against electronic transmission of election results on the floor of the Senate. In a statement signed by the Edo State PDP chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemi, the PDP described his behaviour as treacherous and exposed him as someone that was not only self-centred but had completely lost touch with the people he is representing. The PDP however commends  Senator Matthew Urhoghide and Senator Clifford Ordia the PDP Senators representing Edo South and Edo Central Senatorial Districts respectively in the National Assembly, describing their alignment with other PDP Senators as true representation of Edos values and aspirations. The honourable member representing Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. (Barr.) Deacon Sergius Oseasochie Ogun has felicitated with all Muslims in Agbazilo in particular and the country at large as they celebrate Eid-El-Kabir. The Edo State Government has taken over the construction of the Lawani Crescent Road project in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the state. The action of the state government followed a viral video online exposing the poorly executed Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency Road project, sponsored by Deputy Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Peter O. Akpatason through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. During inspection of the project site, representative of the Governor and Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, said the state has maintained a standard in execution of road projects across the state, describing the project in Akoko-Edo as substandard. The governor ordered for the arrest of the contractor handling the project, while urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to immediately commence investigations by inviting Hon. The State Working Committee of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo state has, after its working committee meeting called to deliberate on the report of the Investigative Committee set up to investigate the allegations of gross misconduct against its Chairman, Hon. Tony Aziegbemi, has exonerated and acquited  him. In a statement signed by the publicity secretary Mr Chris Nehikhare, the suspension has therefore been lifted and the  Chairman,  Hon. Tony Aziegbemi will resume his office with immediate effect.  We thank all party members, supporters and leaders for their cooperation and support during this period of self audit, he added.
